Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields was born May 31 of 1965. At the age of 12, she was a child model. She was praised by critics for her part in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teens and starred in various dramas of the 1980s such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli’s Endless Love (1981). In 1983, Shields ended her modeling profession to pursue a degree at Princeton University where she received an undergraduate degree in Romance Languages. Shields was cast in film roles of minor importance as well as a return to acting in the 1990s. She was also a mainstay in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), in which she was awarded two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. Shields returned to NBC in 2017 to reprise her role as a prominent role in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified's 19th season. From 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was born in Manhattan, New York on May 31, 1965. She was the daughter of actress and model Teri Shields (nee Schmon; 1933-2012) and businessman Frank Shields (1941-2003). According to the research of William Addams Reitwiesner, Shields is related to a number noble families from Italy specifically from Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella was her paternal grandmother. She was the daughter of an American socialite as well as an Italian prince. Her uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. The family of Teri paid Frank the sum of money for her to terminate her pregnancy.
