Big Time Rush
Big Time Rush is an American pop music
boy band formed in 2009. The group is comprised of Kendall Schmidt and James
Maslow along with Logan Henderson and Carlos PenaVega. They initially signed
with Nick Records in 2009 before changing to Columbia Records. They appeared in
Nickelodeon's telecast show, Big Time Rush. From November 28, 2009 until July
25 in 2013, the show aired. The premiere episode featured the group's debut
promo single, "Big Time Rush". The group recorded three albums, BTR
in 2010, Elevate 2011 and 24/7 in 2013. The group took an indefinite hiatus in
the year 2014 which lasted until 2021, when the band resumed live performances
and released the single "Call It Like I See It". Nickelodeon signed
Big Time Rush a record contract in 2009 and was simultaneously airing the TV
show Big Time Rush. Then, Nickelodeon partnered with Columbia/Epic Label Group
to produce the show and add original music for the show. The debut single,
"Big Time Rush" was released on the show' November 29th 2009.
Officially announced by Nickelodeon in November 2009, the show was first
broadcast for the time in the US. It then debuted internationally. The show
premiered during a one-hour special trailer for the series and it is currently
the show's theme for opening. Promo singles, such as "City is Ours",
"Any Kind of Guy" as well as others were released during the show.
Big Time Rush remixed "Famous" by Play. The song was released on
iTunes on June 29th in 2010. The second song, "Halfway There", was
also released on iTunes after its debut on the series. The song quickly became
the first to chart on Billboard Hot 100. Due to sales on digital platforms, it
reached number 93. Big Time Rush's second single, "Till You Forget About
You", was released on the 21st of September the 21st of September, 2010.
The purpose of the release was to announce their debut album. The album, called
BTR, was launched on the 11th of October in 2010. It debuted at number three on
the Billboard 200. It sold the album at 67,000 copies in its first week.
