Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida on the 30th of November 1977. American electro house music producer, D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his moniker. Music executive. He is the third child of Chizuru Kobayashi and Rocky Aoki. His father was a former wrestler and also the founder of the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two brothers, Kana (sometimes known as Grace), and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. The family was raised in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Newport Harbor High School, in which he was a part of the varsity badminton team. He went on to UC Santa Barbara, graduating with two B.A. He graduated with two degrees in sociology and one in feminist studies. He was a student at the college who created records by himself and held underground concerts in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a venue for concerts. He was also active in student activities at UCSB. He was the founder of an organization called the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. At the age of 20, he was establishing his own record label, which was named Dim Mak. The name is a reference for his childhood hero Bruce Lee. In March 2010 the singer came out with I'm in the House, a collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-like alter-ego of the Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The song topped the charts at No. 29 in the U.K. Singles Chart in the first week of its release. The track climbed to the top five of both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart. The track was featured on the MTV series Jersey Shore. It also was included in Piranha, the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer and songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a interview with HitQuarters that he and Rivers Cuomo had recently worked together with Aoki on a single. In 2012, Pollstar designated him as the top-grossing dancer in North America from tours. He has worked with artists like Iggy Azalea, Afrojack, LMFAO, Linkin Park, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke, BTS, Louis Tomlinson, Rise Against, Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He is well-known for his remixes with artists like Kid Cudi.
